Dining experience had some mixed plates. side salad lacked freshness and seasoning, leaving a soggy impression. Steak dishes appeared undercooked with inconsistent texture—definitely not the best cuts, which might leave a discerning palate wanting more. While the ambiance was inviting, for a quieter meal, the proximity to noise from the bar can be a distraction, especially if you’re looking for a serene dining experience.

Clean rooms with a fresh, contemporary feel set a good tone for the stay. The inn features ample parking and easy access to the area, making it a solid spot for a quick escape.
The small double room lacked a wardrobe, making clothes storage a bit tricky—hanging them on the chest of drawers felt cramped. Shower pressure barely did the job, resulting in a dribble instead of a refreshing experience. While the menu was uninspiring, basic pub fare like cod and chips didn’t hit the mark. the prices felt a bit high for what's offered. A missed opportunity to elevate the dining experience.

The family room was beautifully decorated and even had a lovely widescreen TV, which made our evenings cozy after exploring. We loved the relaxing vibe of the comfortable lounge and the fantastic breakfast spread with a full English offering. The lack of wardrobe space was a bit of a hassle, but it didn’t take away from our great time at the hotel! 😊

Checked into the Highgate Inn recently for a last-minute getaway and was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance. The check-in process was quick and easy. The room smelled fresh and clean, with a contemporary color scheme that felt inviting. the small double room lacked a wardrobe, which made hanging clothes on the chest of drawers a bit inconvenient. The shower water pressure was disappointing—more of a dribble than a proper shower. Despite these small setbacks, I enjoyed the comfort of the bed and the overall vibe of the place. I didn't get to try breakfast, but it smelled amazing! I'd definitely consider staying here again for a short visit.

An impromptu trip led to a delightful one-night stay, with tastefully decorated rooms and excellent bathroom facilities, including a hot shower. The generous tea and coffee amenities made the room feel welcoming, far superior to typical chain offerings. The restaurant stood out with home-cooked meals at reasonable prices. the lamb balti special was particularly noteworthy for curry enthusiasts. Perfectly situated for exploring the coastline, this stay provided great value and memorable experiences.

great access to pembroke's charming landmarks and parks
During our stay, we appreciated how close the Pembroke Castle was, just a short stroll of about 500 meters, allowing us to wander through its historic grounds, and we also enjoyed the delightful Lily Ponds which are less than a 15-minute walk away, perfect for a peaceful afternoon escape, and the friendly staff made our time even better while having a cozy room that felt much more personal than others we've visited.
